ESOFIL 40MG CAP

Esofil 40 mg contains esomeprazole, a proton pump inhibitor (PPI).

It is used to treat GERD (acid reflux), erosive esophagitis, and peptic ulcers.

Also prescribed for prevention of ulcers in patients taking long-term NSAIDs.

Works by blocking the proton pumps in the stomach lining, reducing acid secretion.

Usually taken once daily before meals, though in severe cases may be taken twice daily.

Side effects can include headache, abdominal discomfort, nausea, diarrhea, constipation, or dizziness.

Long-term use should be monitored due to risks of vitamin B12 deficiency, low magnesium, and possible bone weakness.
