ADRONIL 3MG INJ 3ML

Generic name: Ibandronic acid.

Strength / Formulation: 3 mg in 3 ml solution for injection.

Uses / Indications:
 • Treatment of post-menopausal osteoporosis in women at increased risk of fractures.
 • Reducing bone damage in certain cancer conditions, control elevated calcium levels (hypercalcemia) related to tumors.

Dosage schedule: Administered intravenously once every 3 months. Injection should be slow (over ~15-30 seconds).

Additional requirements: Patients should take supplemental calcium and vitamin D if dietary intake is insufficient.

Major precautions / contraindications:
 • Not for people with low blood calcium (hypocalcemia).
 • Not recommended in patients with severe kidney impairment (creatinine clearance < 30 mL/min) or high serum creatinine above certain levels.
 • Must be administered intravenously by a healthcare professional; avoid improper administration (intra-arterial or paravenous) which could cause tissue damage.
