Empaa-L tablets combine Empagliflozin 10 mg (an SGLT2 inhibitor) and Linagliptin 5 mg (a DPP-4 inhibitor).

It is used to improve blood sugar control in adults with type 2 diabetes, especially when one drug alone is not sufficient.

Empagliflozin works by helping the kidneys remove excess glucose via urine.

Linagliptin increases the levels of incretin hormones, enhancing insulin release and reducing glucagon secretion.

It is taken once daily, typically at the same time each day, with or without food.

Possible side effects include urinary tract infections, genital yeast infections, dehydration, and risk of hypoglycemia especially if used with other glucose-lowering meds.

Monitoring kidney function, awareness of fluid intake, and regular blood sugar checks are important while on this medication.
