SOFVASC V 5/160MG TAB is a combination medication used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It contains two active ingredients: amlodipine (5mg) and valsartan (160mg). Amlodipine is a calcium channel blocker that relaxes blood vessels, making it easier for the heart to pump. Valsartan is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) that works by preventing blood vessels from constricting. The combination of these two drugs helps to lower blood pressure more effectively than either drug alone, reducing the risk of heart attacks, strokes, and kidney problems.
