CARBEX 5% 120ML SYP

Description of Carbex 5% 120 mL Suspension:

• Active ingredient: Carbocisteine 5% w/v (250 mg per 5 mL)

• Function / Action: Helps break down and reduce the thickness and stickiness of mucus in the respiratory tract. By making mucus less viscous, it’s easier to cough up and clear; this eases breathing and helps reduce cough associated with mucus accumulation.

• Used for: Respiratory conditions with excessive or thick mucus, like chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), acute or chronic upper/lower airway secretion issues. Also used as adjunct therapy where mucus retention causes coughing difficulty.

• Dosage:
    Adults (15 years & older): 15 mL (3 teaspoons) three times daily; after improvement can reduce to 10 mL (2 teaspoons) three times daily.
    Children (5-15 years): 5 mL three times daily or as prescribed.
