XAAR 50MG CAP is a medication containing the active ingredient losartan potassium. It is an angiotensin II receptor blocker (ARB) used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). It works by blocking a substance in the body that causes blood vessels to tighten, allowing them to relax and widen. This action lowers blood pressure and makes it easier for the heart to pump blood. It is also used to reduce the risk of stroke in patients with hypertension and left ventricular hypertrophy, and to protect the kidneys in patients with Type 2 diabetes and protein in the urine.
