Klaricid 500mg XL Tablet contains Clarithromycin, a macrolide antibiotic, in an extended-release (XL) formulation. It works by inhibiting bacterial protein synthesis, thereby stopping bacterial growth. The extended-release form provides prolonged action, allowing for once-daily dosing, which improves patient compliance. It is used for moderate to severe bacterial infections affecting the respiratory tract, skin, and in combination therapy for certain gastrointestinal infections caused by Helicobacter pylori.

Uses:

  • Respiratory tract infections (community-acquired pneumonia, acute bacterial sinusitis, chronic bronchitis)

  • Skin and soft tissue infections
