ZISCAR 5MG TAB is a medication containing the active ingredient rosuvastatin. It belongs to a class of drugs known as statins, which are used to lower high cholesterol levels. Rosuvastatin works by inhibiting HMG-CoA reductase, an enzyme in the liver that plays a key role in the production of cholesterol. By blocking this enzyme, it significantly reduces the levels of LDL (“bad”) cholesterol and triglycerides while increasing HDL (“good”) cholesterol.
