JARDY MET 12.5/850MG TAB

Jardy-Met is a combination oral antidiabetic medication containing two active ingredients: empagliflozin (12.5 mg) and metformin hydrochloride (850 mg).

Empagliflozin is from the class of SGLT-2 inhibitors, which reduce blood sugar by helping the kidneys excrete excess glucose through urine.

Metformin is a biguanide, which lowers blood glucose by decreasing glucose production in the liver, reducing intestinal absorption of glucose, and improving insulin sensitivity in peripheral tissues.

The tablet is used as part of management of type 2 diabetes mellitus, typically along with diet and exercise, especially when single-agent therapy (with either of the two) is insufficient.
