ARCEVA DS 30ML SYP

Arceva DS 30 mL Syrup is a pediatric formulation containing Artemether 30 mg and Lumefantrine 180 mg per 5 mL. It is manufactured by Sami Pharmaceuticals and is used for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated malaria caused by Plasmodium falciparum, including cases resistant to chloroquine.

Artemether is a rapid-acting antimalarial that disrupts the parasite’s digestive vacuole, inhibiting its metabolism and causing rapid destruction. Lumefantrine, a long-acting partner drug, reinforces this action by interfering with the parasite’s energy production and inhibiting the synthesis of essential proteins, further weakening and eliminating the malaria parasites, particularly during their later stages of development.
