Amaryl 1 mg (glimepiride) Tablet is used in adults with type 2 diabetes mellitus (non–insulin dependent diabetes).

  • It helps lower high blood sugar by stimulating the pancreas to release more insulin.

  • Usually given once daily with the first main meal of the day to reduce risk of low blood sugar (hypoglycaemia).

  • The usual starting dose is 1 mg (or 2 mg) daily; the dose can be adjusted depending on how well blood sugar is controlled.
